Hip-Hop and Experimental fusion is what the independent artist Yunglynx is dropping, making mindful music on their mission to challenge listeners through melodies.
It’s a reflexive and interesting 6-track EP that will take you on a ride into the mind of the singer-songwriter Yunglynx. It’s not only about music and beats here, it’s something personal, deep and emotional as well.
Yunglynx is a very young rapper (though they’d rather be referred to as a hip-hop artist) who produces soulful and melodic rap music, drawing inspiration from the genre’s pioneers.
Their latest EP entitled “It’s Ok To Think About It, Just Don’t Let It Consume You” was released weeks ago, and is part of an important project for the artist. Especially because of the themes approached.
It’s about emotions, relationships, love, acceptance and mainly about mental health and how to overcome barriers. A topic that reaches most young people nowadays.
Welcome to Music Discovery. Each week we track down one up-and-coming band or musician, to showcase their talent and help you discover something new.

A native of Norwich, Connecticut, on the east coast of the United States, Yunglynx is an independent artist. Their music is composed and recorded in a small in-home studio that has constantly evolved over the course of the years in which they have been making music.
The instrumentals for Yunglynx’s songs are also produced by small YouTube producers that they enjoy working with. As an adolescent, Yunglynx started to compose music in order to express their emotions resulting from a broken family dynamic at home.
During their 13th year, they lost their mother. This increased the amount of writing they did to cope with how they felt. This only increased the intensity of their writing.
Growing up, Yunglynx had no choice but to fill the void in their lives and found themselves playing the guitar and writing songs to fill that void.
It wasn’t long after they graduated high school that they suffered another close loss, this time the loss of their sister. While trying to figure out how to navigate through life, as well as end a toxic relationship, Yunglynx began recording music. In spite of this, it wasn’t until the year 2020 that they began to develop their own sound when they became noticeable.
Life wasn’t easy, but the artist kept involving even more with music. It wasn’t long after the toxic end of a relationship in 2017 that Yunglynx started recording the lyrics they wrote during the turbulent time of that relationship. The emotions were very raw and there was a lot of roughness to everything. Those feelings were all transformed into music and worked as a proper therapy.
In the process, they realized that making music was one of the few outlets they had to deal with the stresses of life. This saved the artist’s life! Yunglynx has been writing about mental health and life hardships since 2017, exploring new styles, but never changes their roots when it comes to experimenting with different sounds.
There is no musical genre that Yunglynx does not take influence from. A few examples of some of these artists would be Corbin, Nothing Nowhere, Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, VITO, Lil Skele and many others. The artist had also the opportunity to make partnerships with other rappers and singers to bring this EP to life.
Despite the fact that the EP was recorded over the course of a few months, it was only pieced together as a whole very recently. It was only possible for Yunglynx to record everything in their in-home studio with the help of VITO2300 on Don’t Want 2 Talk and ADHD on Sunday.
As mentioned, the main inspiration for the atmosphere of this EP is derived from recent experiences the artist have had in life, that they’ve learned from. While losing friendships, losing other close relationships, and being in a slump, Yunglynx coped with the loss by putting their pain into their music.
That’s the only way they know how. Besides the very personal content on the songs, this project was an experiment for Yunglynx with various sounds in order to come up with music that was uniquely their own.
