However, in recent years we’ve seen an explosion of new artists who are doing it all on their terms. They set their own rules and follow their paths. They don’t have to worry about fitting into any specific genre or scene—they make whatever music they want!

Eric Cohen, an independent artist from Kansas City, Missouri, has released a new single called “Live For Christ” that will make you want to bust out your best dance moves.
A message of hope, life, and love is being spread by him to a world that is desperately in need of that message.
This is a track that will appeal to listeners from all walks of life: whether you’re looking for something to play at church or if you’re just in need of some good background music while doing chores around the house, it’s sure to please.

2) BLACK SILVER – Westside Glory
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the full-length LP titled “Forbidden Slanguage” is due for release. The single “Westside Glory” will be released as the first single from the album. E Skillz music is responsible for the production of this track.
This song was written by Black Silver as an ode to the creativity of being an artist, and not following the same ole format and structure that he believes hinders the growth and development of hip-hop artistry.
The track is easy to listen to and has an edge that makes it super edgy without taking away from its accessibility. If you’re looking for something to put on when you’re hanging out with friends or want some background music while you work on your laptop at home, this song is a great choice.

3) TRUEFRESH718 – Toxic And Topless
The hip-hop scene has a new hero, and he goes by the name TrueFresh718. With his new single, “Toxic And Topless,” he proves that he is more than just an industry-savvy rapper with a catchy hook. He’s also a singer-songwriter with an ear for melody and an eye for emotion.
An intoxicating relationship is the subject of this hip-hop song, he has been praised for his unique style that blends genres seamlessly. He describes his sound as “emo pop rock” but he also incorporates elements of R&B and rap into his music as well.
The lyrics are honest and relatable, and the music is catchy without being overproduced or overdone—it’s just right. I would say that this song could be classified as rap rock, but it’s more like a modern take on emo rap. It’s got some elements of both genres while still sounding like its own thing.

4) SHAROD VIRTUOSO – Favorite
The single, Favorite, by SHAROD VIRTUOSO is a perfect example of alternative indie R&B. It’s got a contemporary R&B sound with neo-soul elements and has an edgy feel to it that makes you want to sing along while simultaneously relaxing you.
The way everything blends creates this cool vibe where you just want to keep listening over and over again because there’s so much detail in every aspect of it.
The production is also very impressive; it adds depth and texture without being distracting or overbearing on top of what’s already there.
Sharod’s vocals are smooth and relaxed; he doesn’t try to show off his range or impress you with charisma—he just sounds like he’s having fun singing his heart out. It’s refreshing!

5) M.C. MAURICEARTIS AKA BIG BLAK BRUTHA NASTY – He So Old
M.C. Maurice is a rapper and producer from Austin, Texas. His sound is based on funk, groove, boom bap, hip-hop, rap, soul and easy-listening beats with classic U.S. cultural influences.
There is only one thing you can say about this song, and that is that it has that groove to it. As it is all about content and funk, it is exactly how every man feels when it is suggested that he should have outgrown hip-hop years ago.
The album is a funky, soulful collection of songs that will have you grooving to the beat for days on end. The tracks are loaded with catchy hooks and instrumentals that you can’t help but love.
It’s got that classic sound we all love from the 90s, but with a modern twist to it which makes it super catchy. This guy is definitely someone to keep an eye on if you’re into classic hip-hop music!
”He So Old” is very much Boom-Bap, but with a more fun vibe and less edgy. It’s like blending 2006 MF DOOM and Eminem. I love it because of how funky it is, and how he managed it in his style.

6) PRINCETON – Wanna Die
PRINCETON, an independent artist from El Paso, Texas, has released his new single Wanna Die. The song is a perfect blend of pop and rap that will have you singing along in no time.
A lot of people have gone through tough times lately, and we’re seeing people for who they really are, and Princeton hates that he is being witnessed to this. This song is dedicated to the memory of Princeton’s mother, who died unexpectedly a few months ago.
The thing I think differentiates him from the crowd is his authenticity, his scars, his versatility, and his ability to tell stories – that’s why he stands out from the crowd.

7) H4NT – Hang Sometime
If you like music that’s a little bit different, but also super catchy and danceable, then H4NT is the artist for you.
H4NT, whose real name is Max Köhler, is 21 years old and grew up in the suburbs of Stuttgart, south Germany. At the age of nine, he started playing the piano and started producing music in FL Studio at age twelve.
Among his biggest influences are hip-hop artists like JCole and Aminé, as well as small electronic artists like Albakore, Qwince, and Mr. Ours.
The German-based artist is a master of trip-hop, hyper-pop, hip-hop, rap, and electronic pop—basically, any genre you can think of that involves catchy beats and an edgy vibe.
And his latest single “Hang Sometime” is no exception. The song combines rap vocals with danceable beats to create a track that will get your heart racing and your feet moving in no time at all.
He wrote this Song when he was massively mad at a friend of his because he had weird opinions on topics he didn’t know anything about. Both of them are friends and they have known one another for a long time, and it would be unfair to just let that fall apart due to some stupid opinions.

8) KURST – Action
Kurst is the name of the man. In his own words, he is a rising Canadian artist who defines himself as a storyteller/theme artist. As a theme artist, he usually uses clever wordplay in order to tell a story based on a theme he takes on.
The singer has done this with Disney movies, Horror movies, and now with a new single titled Action, he has managed to fit 37 famous action movies, as well as action stars, into a song under 3 minutes in a song that speaks about taking action and a song that discusses taking action.
His single “Action” is a banger that will make you want to go out and do things—or at least listen to it while you’re doing them. It’s got a nostalgic feel, with a cinematic quality that evokes an epic scene in a Hollywood movie.
